The Spicy Jewish Band invites you to a concert of Sephardic music that encompasses the traditions of the Balkans, Africa, and the Middle East, blended with a vibrant touch of Latin American music. You will enjoy melodies in Ladino (Judeo-Spanish), boleros with Hebrew lyrics, religious songs, piyutim from Yemen, and much more. It will be a unique evening, where the music will not only warm your hearts but also deeply connect you to Jewish tradition through the beauty and richness of Sephardic culture.
The Spicy Jewish Band is a Jewish music project led by Mario Moya and complemented by singers Nadia Merkel and Malki Ramos, all mexican Jews. Mario Moya is a Jewish composer, musician, and teacher born in San Miguel de Allende. He is a student of Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) and Sephardic culture.
Doors open at 2:30 for socializing, wine and refreshments will be available for purchase.
