Biography

The San Miguel de Allende Literary Festival and Book Fair (FELISMA) is celebrating its 21st anniversary and aims to promote Literary Culture in both writing and reading. More than 30 FREE events, readings, and workshops are offered each February. Our keynote speakers and facilitators represent the most prominent writers and thinkers from across the Americas. Past presenters include Sandra Cisneros, Richard Blanco, and Ruth Behar, among others.
Our main project is FELISMA, which is the oldest literary festival and book fair in San Miguel de Allende, as well as the FELISMA Recognition Award and the youth program for writers known as Pluma Joven de Poesía, Ensayo y Narrativa; plus a small bookstore "La Musa Hosca" that serves the community throughout the year.
