A triptych about colonialist violence that begins as a popular western and continues as a police thriller and Amazonian odyssey. A journey through time and space with echoes of Herzog, Lynch or Jarmusch's Dead Man.
We first meet Viggo Mortensen as a gunfighter searching for his kidnapped daughter, before moving to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, where a female police officer deals with the problems of her Sioux community. Finally, a shape-shifting bird introduces us to a tribe in the Brazilian jungle, riven by discord.
Guided by a dreamlike flow, Eureka is a spiritual journey through time and space that examines the history of colonialism of different indigenous peoples of America.
