Event Description

Some of the greatest singers of the Metropolitan Opera joined the Met roster through the company’s audition program for young North Americans. In 2017, the Met invited Mexico to be included in the competition, and the vocal talent in Mexico proved to be even greater than the Met had anticipated. Some of the Mexican winners of the past eight years have gone on to international careers.

On Saturday, March 22, at 4:00pm, you will be able to hear the four most recent winners of the Met competition in a concert at Casa Europa, San Francisco #23, in Centro.

The singers are Nohemí Lozano, soprano, from Mexico City; Misael Corralejo, tenor, from León, Guanajuato; Daniela Cortés, mezzo-soprano, from Saltillo, Coahuila; and Esaú Álvarez, baritone, from Durango. The pianist is Andres Sarré.
