Biography

Rodrigo Velázquez (1990, city of residence San Miguel de Allende, Gto.) At 31 years old, he has an extensive career within the Mexican music scene; Rodrigo Velázquez is one of the most sought-after saxophonists in the city of San Miguel de Allende. Rodrigo has performed in most states of the Mexican Republic, both in Music Festivals and in Art Exhibitions and Recitals for Universities within the Country.
He began his musical studies of guitar at the age of 8; At the age of 12 he joined the Orchestra of the Tollantzingo Bilingual Cultural Institute (ICBT) and later from 2009 to 2012 he studied at the UAEH Institute of Arts (IDA) Visual Arts and Double Bass. He began his saxophone studies self-taught and has complemented his musical education with teachers: Bindu Gross, Remi Alvarez, Fred Haas, Diego Maroto, Tom Kessler, Adrian Challiu, Julio Sanchez and Jaime Valle.
